University Administration

Pursuant to Schedule I, Section 6(b), (c) of the Lagos State University Law, 2004, the Registrar is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for ‘the day-to-day administrative work of the University except as regards matters of which the Bursar is responsible for in accordance with the provisions of this Schedule. By virtue of that office, the Registrar is the Secretary to the Council, the Senate, Congregation and Convocation and other Statutory Committees of the University. As the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, the Registrar is responsible for the custody of the records and the common seal of the University.

 
Mr. Mohammed Olayinka AMUNI was appointed as the 7th Registrar, Lagos State University on 28th June, 2019.

Born in the Epe Division of Lagos State on 14th May, 1971, he began his education at Farombi Primary School, Isolo, Lagos from 1976-1982 before proceeding to Holy Saviour’s College, Isolo, Lagos between 1982 and 1987 for his Secondary Education. In 1992, he graduated from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabajo University) Ago – Iwoye with a Degree in Biochemistry. Between 1996 and 1998, Olayinka Amuni had his Master in Business Administration (MBA) at the Lagos State University, specializing in Marketing Management. He enrolled for a Degree at the Faculty of Law in the Lagos State University between 1999 and by 2006 and graduated with an LL.B (Hons), Second Class Upper Division. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2009. He obtained a Master in Law in 2016 at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.

Mr. Olayinka Amuni joined the Service of Lagos State University in February 1994 as an Administrative Officer II in the Vice Chancellor’s Office. His ascension in the career ladder saw him traversed different Faculties, Directorates, Centres and Offices including Faculties of Arts, Science, Admissions, Council Matters, Non Academic Staff Establishment, Works and Physical Planning and Academic Staff Establishment of the University gathering the needed experience and exposure preparatory for the number one administrative position in the University.

He is a member of many Professional bodies, including the Association of Nigeria University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), Association of University Administrators United Kingdom (AUA UK), American Association of University Administrators (AAUA) and Nigerian Bar Association. He has attended many local and International training and workshops.

He is happily married and blessed with children.
